A bright smile makes a person look young, healthy, and vibrant. Over time, however, tooth enamel stains because of foods, beverages, tobacco, and other factors. Fortunately, you now have access to a wide variety of teeth whitening products over the counter and at Value Dental Centers. The systems we offer are prescription strength, so if over-the-counter systems have provided undesirable results, talk with one of our dentists about dentist-administered teeth whitening.
Who Needs Professional Whitening?
Most tooth discoloration occurs on the surface of a tooth, in the enamel. Adults whose natural tooth enamel shows signs of topical staining will benefit from our teeth whitening systems. Internal dental stains, often caused by trauma, fluorosis, or medications, will not respond to topical teeth whitening, regardless of the potency. However, we can place bonding, crowns, or veneers to conceal permanent, internal dental stains. Note that veneers, ceramic, and composite resin are not lightened with chemical whitening, either.
